The ring is signed by the artist and is a vintage piece, adding to its unique charm. Dee Morris was anglo and was adopted into a Navajo family. He was taught the silversmith trade by his family. His work appeared on the cover of Arizona highway in 1974 which featured a turquoise mosaic on a buffalo skull. He was an extraordinary artist and his work was sought by the designer Ralph Lauren.
